How Pro-Vas Works
Pro-Vas is a male birth control procedure that naturally prevents pregnancy. The simple procedure is performed in your doctor's office in less than 20 minutes. Most men resume their normal activities in less than one day.
The Pro-Vas clip is pre-loaded into an applier that a physician uses for vas deferens application. The small implantable, permanent clip uses a titanium torsion spring to apply continuous force onto the vas, stopping the flow of sperm and rendering you azoospermatic (no measurable level of sperm).
Post-operative patient instructions and follow-up are similar to a vasectomy. You will be sterile post-procedure after 15-20 ejaculations (a semen analysis should be performed in 2-3 months). During this period you must continue to use another form of birth control.
